After Christmas - What next?

About time I updated this blog...kind of hard with the college kids home and only one computer up that you can IM on to a list as large as Santa's. But now that it is 2:30 am the computer is free and the house is quiet.
Our time in Tahoe was a safe, small amount of snow, snowboarding (including Daniel in a cast), visiting Donner Lake and museum, cross country skiing, sledding every where vacation. We stayed in a beautiful home we lovingly call Moose Lodge. Some relaxing was done but not much. Andrew got sick...no one believed me until he threw up in the car on the way home...multiple times that "Leave him alone, he doesn't feel good." took on new meaning. Live and learn.
Christmas was great...I received many wonderful things. One of those being a decorative wire bird cage from my hubby and son. It is copper wire and three stories high (at least if you are a bird) with roost and swings and a plastic catch all on the bottom. I know they worked really hard on it....as did Rebecca on her home made pillows for my bed. There was also bowls, dinner out coupon, nightie,...and so much love in all the packages.
As most of you know the Mexico trip was cancelled and I wondered what Larry would fill some of those days with.....how about Death Valley, then Las Vegas (CES show), take Julie to her college and race back here to put kids on the plane to go back to LETU. Some where in this time there is also to be a trip to see Bamboo Shoot production farm as well....That's Larry.
Been busy this season, listening to kids and catching up on their friends and lives, feeding and more feeding of mouths, cleaning up after them, shopping for needs and wants, shopping for food, Twins birthday is tomorrow/today (Dec.30th), getting rooms in shape for Grandmom's visit in Jan, work, IM- ing, meeting some new friends, and of course we cant forget the dentist and orthodontist. All this along with some sleep, a few colds and coughs, rainy weather...but who can complain...at least no earth quakes, floods and loss of life.

Christmas is coming!

Well it is getting to look a lot like Christmas....One kid of mine likes to sing this from the roof tops...Won't say which one. One advantage and disadvantage of living in a large family is that one has to learn to be flexible. Being married to and related to Larry gives us much more practice than one deserves though. Mexico mission trip is off for the winter break :( for most of us. Wonder what his mind has been thinking of over in China???? to fill in those "boring days" the kids will have while home from fast paced college life. Oh, for the good old "boring days"!
The kids come home Fri. We managed to get them all on one flight to pick up at the airport. TX and CA schools let out at the same time this year. Then Sat. we get to go hear the Kings Brass, and eat a delicious dinner at Mt. Hermon. Pick up Dad at the airport Sun. and head to Lake Tahoe to play in the snow. This will be hard for Daniel since he just broke his hand and arm in 3 different places. I am not so sure this saying is true but every one tells him he was "lucky" cause he broke his left hand and he is right handed. Guess it depends on the eye or should I say hand of the beholder. He was our avid snowboarder. But he will have fun with hot choc., snacks, a good book, and a newish old gas power car that he recently acquired.
I have lots of cookies to make, clothes to get ready, house to clean, meals to prepare and as always there never seems to be enough time. Either I need more time or I need to cut back on my expectations.?. Do I feel a new years resolutions coming into focus here? Naw....
Well, with Andrew and Roger now sick, I need to start my day. Hope all who read this are getting into the holiday spirit. As the song says Oh come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant...(By the way that means us Christians...are to come...Joyful and triumphant! Not two words I would always use about myself but with Christ help maybe more often during the next year)
I do plan to blog some more during this year but not sure when so to
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and TO ALL A GOODNIGHT

New Technology and new methods are great until they break down and the user can use them no more. Such is the case with computers. Mine is finally working again and at home in it's cozy little spot. Of course, since this user did not grow up with computers, and has no basic understanding of them, I am dependent of outside fix it help. So now everyone can become bored with my family Christmas update. In just a few short days my kids are home from college...Larry will be home from China....I will need to be cooking big, big meals again......yippee! This is one of my favorite times of year since our family gets back together after many separations and has a chance to catch up on all that has been happening. So life will be full or preparations.....making of Christmas treats, wrapping of the presents, arranging of the beds, .......and so forth. Well, I will make this a short blog, just getting back into the habit. Hope this finds the readers happy, joyful, and looking forward to this wonderful Christmas season.
