The Day After.....it started out to be a slow, cold, rainy day. We were suppose to get the tree. By noon the sun had shown its face so off we went...up Hyw. 1 to the Christmas tree farm with the swings, wreaths, trees, roasting marshmallows...and other fun activities. Together the ladies made an evergreen wreath...Dad and rest of gang arrived and we chose a tree. Then on the way home we stopped for Kiwi...picked 34lbs. By now most of the day had passed and we drove home. Stopped at Long's and picked up a few needed items and then home to a great leftover dinner.

The three legged turkey

As you can see Rachel's drawings have improved. Here is a three legged turkey she drew as a wee one. If you see her blog you will tell that she is quite creative. So a happy Thanksgiving to all.

Well, Jared and Rachel are officially engaged. There will be a May wedding in Texas. We are so excited for them and very pleased to have Jared as a new son....hope he will be as pleased. So much is happening this month. Of course there is Thanksgiving, Turkey Day....and then the day after where we decorate the house for Christmas.
Julie is coming home on Mon. Her heart is giving her trouble again. She had to go see a new specialist. We don't know what is wrong yet....if your reading this just pray for her. She is very tired and doesn't feel well...so school is hard. She is seeing the heart specialist at home over her holiday.
Swimming is keeping Rebecca busy, as well as Cabrillo college classes, and finishing high school. She should graduate this Dec. She has another ear infection, so swimming is difficult.
School, life, awanas, bible study, work, and regular household chores take up most of the days. It is hard to imagine that almost another year is past.

November is here. The weather has turned cold and wet. We don't really get fall colors here in CA. But, the rainy season starts....which is greatly appreciated when one has to pay for the water to keep a nursery green. Just as the seasons change...so did the kids rooms. All of a sudden, today of all days, they decided to move furniture. So some fall cleaning was done as well. This is a good thing, but always causes my asthma to kick in ... I must suffer so others can clean.. It is also far easier than moving from one house to another as has been done many times in my life.
Rachel and Jared are officially engaged. We are excited for both of them. Can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for them as they start a life together. Will miss Rachel when she goes to Guatemala to visit Jared's folks for Christmas. As we told Jared....there is a "sold as is" and a "no return" policy. He said he had passed that point a long time ago. Really, I am pretty proud of Larry....he had all sorts of plans for when Jared called but kept them all to himself. Their stories of the actual engagement are absolutely great to read. May their life be filled with many more events like that.
Chudley went gopher hunting today. She dug a trench in the front yard but like all hunters in this family came home empty pawed. I on the other hand, demolished a small snake the other day. I know they are good and eat rodents but my heart and hand say KILL KILL and guess which wins every time.
It is late and time for bed. We are out of Breyers cc mint ice cream and Larry is threatening divorce. Guess I will be nice and go get him some tomorrow. The cravings...and he isn't pregnant.
