Going to a wedding......

Only a few more days to go and I will be off to Texas. That is if the airlines lets me on. I am sure that they will. Almost everything seems to be done...or at least all the things that count. We picked up the wedding dress, an evening dress (for the new husbands graduation dinner), shoes, ordered flowers....and you who are married know of the list. I am sure we will forget something but that will just give her stories to tell later. They still have to figure out where to put their heads until married housing becomes available...more great stories. As well as they all need to study, write papers, pass finals...just those little things to get out of the way.
The good news is that I am getting a puppy! We are picking it up after the wedding near Atlanta GA. So I loose a daughter but gain a puppy....or was that gain a son and a puppy???
Supper is on....and I didn't have to cook it or plan it. A friend brought it by and all we have to do is eat it....Another huge blessing!

A much needed rest

After a much needed rest....I still get to sit around and rest some more. They say when it rains....it pours. After days and days of rain the sun is finally shining. Only problem is I will not be able to just walk outside to enjoy it. Tues. evening found me getting a special ride in a what my children say is a "really cool vehicle". I found my way via ambulance to the emergency room where great "drugs" were served via IV. I slipped in our front room, landing all my weight, (No comments here) on my left knee. Upon hearing the crack and snap, as well as feelimg great pain, I decided to deny my husbands offer of help to get me to the hospital and rely on the generosity of strangers.....they can give drugs of great relief...Larry can not! It was confirmed that I broke my knee cap into pieces and then the discussion of "how to repair the damage ensued". At last it was decided that I would travel by another ambulance to another hospital that had good orthopedic doctors and stay there. They transferred me and then the decision not to operate was made (thank God for big blessings). My decision not to be moved proved valuable since my knee cap was ,while in pieces, at least all the the pieces were close so as not to be needed to wire them. Another day of bliss from pain due to IV drugs, a few messy procedures to drain the knee of excess stuff and a special leg brace and I am now home. I may walk on it if the pain is not too great, must always wear this stiff metal brace (for 8 weeks) and use a walker to get around. Now for the big answer to the big question YES, I will be able to walk (with assistance and the walker) down the aisle as mother of the bride. It may not be a pretty site but I can do it. I am also planning to still fly to TX early and try to help out where I can. So pray that I won't further hurt myself and that it will heal quickly....I am already bored of all the forced sitting around.
