Fair is a variable....

This week is Fair week. We (Mom and 4 youngest) also took off two days to accompany Dad to a show in Alameda on board the USS Hornet. It is a massive Essex aircraft carrier. Went up and down massive amounts of small ladders and through small doors. Then off to the hotel to swim. Only problem was... no sun, freezing cold, outside pool. The kids swam till they shook from the cold then we went inside. Dad came home, we went to dinner at Applebees after running around a mall for a while. Then Dad picked up a key lime pie at Trader Joes and we went back to the hotel and watched national Geography program on Jaguars while eating desert. The next day found us at the Oakland Zoo. They are remodeling and making the zoo look lots, lots nicer. The kids favorite exhibit was the meerkats. They look so cute and curious but have very sharp claws and teeth. The fruit bat exhibit was awesome too. They are huge bats that were eating and walking around, stretching their huge wings out.... really cool to see close up. Then it was back home and lots of Fair time on the weekend. We worked in the poultry barn *Roger and Raquel both got 1st places on their chickens. Today is Clover Deli work time. Next week is cleanup and catch up on school time.
