4th

The fourth has come and gone. Fireworks all blown, food all eaten, parade started the day...... Just another traditional fourth for our family. Aptos is famous for being the shortest parade route.....not the shortest parade. Two hours of cars, dogs, kids, dancers, floats, kids, dogs, political agendas, police cars, goats, horses, firetrucks, bucketheads, even a blue car & accordian player, bands, some music, scouts, .... almost everyone in town was either at the parade or in it. That is except some party pooping males from the Gullman household. Some of us went early and set up the chairs, reserving the spot, then off to Safeway for breakfast and a few other 4th supplies. Daniel and Roger rode their bikes later. God is good, on the way a car turned a corner right into Roger. His front wheel popped off and the bike scratch the ladies car, then he proceeded to roll onto her hood and off it when she stopped. God is good, nothing was broken (except the bike which Daniel fixed) and very good because I wasn't there to see it. Such things have the ability to scare the hebeegeebees out of me. Got home after the parade and had a great Chinese chicken salad, and then it was out to play with our company. Michael brought PVC pipe, candle wax, some misc. parts and made a rocket... which worked! For dinner we had chicken, steak, rice and corn on the cob. We shot the rocket off (I got to push the ignition button) and then after it burnt out literally....we had ice cream with sprinkles and whup cream...(that is how the kids pronouce it). Then to a wonderful round of fireworks, sparklers, fountains, cactus, fire crackers, chasers, spinners, bottle rockets, ....... a beautiful shower of color and noise. Then it was off to bed. (Clean up is always easier in the morning when you can see the mess!)
Today the 5th we started swimming lessons for Andrew, Robert and Anna Raquel. All heads got wet and Anna Raquel even jumped off the high dive. Rachel went to chemistry 2, Rebecca did swim practice, work, school, teaching swimming, and home to eat dinner and take care of the animals, Daniel and Jonathan worked on their essay for American History (college), Julie went off to work at Long's Drug, Roger did school and helped clean up, and of course Dad was just "BUSY". Me on the other hand sat all day and read books, ate ice cream, took naps, painted my nails, took a leasurly bubble bath, had my hair done......if you believe that then I have a bridge for sale.
So now it is time to round up children both small and older to get ready for bed. So once again the day is done and I am done in.....night!
